GRAHAME COOK, Non-Executive Director
Grahame has over 18 years experience in investment banking, advising on a wide number of mergers and acquisitions and capital market transactions in the US and Europe. He was Global CEO of West LB Panmure, where he joined in 1999, Managing Director of Capital Markets and on the Global Investment Banking Committee at UBS. He has advised on a number of transactions in the pharmaceuticals and biotechnology sectors across Europe and the US, including private equity investments, IPOs and secondary offerings. Grahame Cook was a founder member of the LSEs TechMARK Advisory Committee, and holds an MA, double first, from Oxford University.
JOHN BEAUMONT, Non-Executive Director
John is a former full Professor of both Management and Information Systems, has been a successful businessman for over 30 years including roles as an Executive Director of a FTSE100 company (Energis), a CEO of a LSE-listed company (QA), and a Managing Partner in a global management and technology consulting practice (BearingPoint). John has held a number of Non-Executive roles (in a major public sector organisation and in several technology-based start-ups), as well as the day-to-day lead responsibility in a successful LSE and NASDAQ $1billion flotation.
RICHARD O'C. WHITTALL, Non-Executive Director
Richard is a seasoned investment banker based in Vancouver, British Columbia. His background includes serving as a past director of Miranda Mining Corp, the first junior company to promote and develop the Guerrrero Gold belt, from 1995 until its sale to Wheaton River Minerals (Goldcorp) in 2003. Richard has participated in a diverse range of corporate activities, including mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. Most recently Richard co-founded Aurea Mining Inc, acting as its president and CEO until its merger in 2008 with Newstrike Capital, part of The Lundin Group. He currently serves as a director of several public and private companies, and holds degrees from the University of British Columbia and University of Cambridge.
KARL BENNO NAGY, Non-Executive Director
Karl began his career after studying Economics and Japanology at the University of Cologne. He went on to become one of the youngest managing executives in the German financial market with the ERGO Group and has since gained over 30 years of experience in areas of Real Estate, Insurance, Private Equity, venture capital, company restructuring and structured investment banking products. Karl is currently President of Walton in Europe based in Hamburg, Germany. He is responsible for the European placement of debt and equity in horizontal and vertical development projects in the US and Canada. Karl deals with institutional clients and semi institutional clients known as family offices and high net worth partners.
FLORIAN HOLST, Non-Executive Director
Florian has over 25 years international experience in the financial management industry. In 1995, Florian founded a specialist private wealth advisory business focused on real estate development in North America, shipping and private equity investments. In 2007, Florian established a sought-after wealth management company, followed by a multi-family office in 2012, both based in Hamburg, Germany. Since 2012, Florian has consulted, managed and executed over 20 private transactions and co-investments for clients, including distressed shipping opportunities as well as real-estate developments. Florian brings to Emergent Capital Partners a wealth of experience and knowledge of the German family office market as well as his deep relationships in the shipping and real-estate markets.
